Pathological Q waves

What are the differential diagnoses if you discover a pathological Q wave?

  • history of myocardial infarction,
  • extreme septal hypertrophy e.g. in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy,
  • any other reason for (significant) myocardial fibrosis,
  • extreme rotation of the heart axis,
  • wrong position of the ECG leads
