Heart Axis

How does aVL help in differentiating between intermediate and vertical axis?

For both, the intermediate and the vertical axis, all three vectors (I, II, III) are positive. The two axes are also summarized as the normal heart axis. Differentiation between the two is very easy. You just take a look at the lead aVL. aVL is positive in the intermediate axis and negative in the vertical axis.
