Heart Axis

Which is the normal heart axis?

All heart axes except intermediate and vertical axis are pathological. Interestingly, with advancing age, the heart axis changes. It alters from a vertical axis in youth, to left axis deviation in later life. Since left axis deviation can be normal in older age, it is unfortunately completely nonspecific in terms of pathologies such as obesity, left heart hypertrophy, and ischemia.
